How Green Could New York Be?
Michael Sorkin was interviewed by the New Yorker about Terreform's New York City (Steady) State project: How Green Could New York Be?
New York City (Steady) State investigates the possibility of “urban self-reliance”; its goal is to figure out what an optimally self-sufficient NYC might look like. By concretely imagining an ideal city, you make a better one more likely. How would such a city function? And what would it be like to live on its leafy and fruitful streets? (Steady) State starts with the notion that “the city is a raw space”; its blocks are considered to be “like stem cells: transmutable.”
